Lavender is a shrubby and evergreen species, which is characterized by the typical spike inflorescence and grey-green foliage.

Native to Mediterranean, lavender's flower are largely used as herbal medicine to prevent anxiety and culinary herb. Also in the production of essential oils.

Commonly grown as ornamental plant, it prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils.

Lavender blooms abundantly throughout the summer and produces a delicious honey, the flowers are edible and can be used to prepare risottos and biscuits. In aromatherapy it is used as a tranquilizer, decongestant against cold and influenza.
