Botanical name: Zingiber mioga

Zingiber mioga is a herbaceous plant, rhizomatous, deciduous, native to Japan.

It does not keep from freezing and produces beautiful flowers in autumn.

Unlike the Zingiber officinalis, this plant using the big flower buds very aromatic hydrocarbons, which can be eaten in salads.

Zingiber mioga has a fast growing and may reach half a meter in height. Given its rusticity, this perennial, can be planted in the gardens.
