Botanical name: Thymus vulgaris
Thymus vulgaris is a shrub, perennial, belonging to the family Lamiaceae and spontaneous in the Western Mediterranean area.
The leaves are lanceolate and narrow greyish-green. Pinkish-white flowers appear from late spring and throughout the summer.
This perennial is utunused as a flavoring in cooking. They are in fact collected the flowers and leaves to flavor soups and meats. Thyme is also a melliferous plant very visited by the bees.
