Botanical name: Ipomoea aquatica
Water spinach is a tropical plant seeds. The leaves are lanceolate, of an intense green colour.
The flowers are trumpet-shaped, white with lilac Centre.
Its buds are cultivated as a vegetable throughout South East Asia before being eaten fried, steamed, in salads, with fish or spicy sauces.
In Indonesia the Ipomoea aquatica is called kangkung.
