Botanical name: Mertensia maritima

Native to the northern coasts of Scotland, Mertensia maritima is a perennial soft blue-gray foliage. The leaves are succulent and have a delicate taste of oyster. Good to be eaten in salads, on bread or crudités.

The appearance of this variety is very decorative hanging.

The bloom, which begins during the summer and ends in the fall, is purple and is often visited by the bees.
