Origano di Creta

Botanical name: Origanum dictamnus

Perennial color silvery, Origanum dictamnus is an endemic species of the Greek island of Crete, where it grows wild in mountainous areas, compact dimensions and a delicate tomentose foliage.

The leaves are used in cooking to flavour dishes and as an adjunct in salads. Not only is the foliage, but also the beautiful pink flowers, which make their appearance during the summer, are used to make herbal tea.
