Botanical name: Clinopodium vimineum
Native to Central America and the Caribbean, Clinopodium vimineum is a small shrub, whose foliage recalls the taste of mint with the addition of a nice peppery note.
It grows wild in Jamaica, even for this commonly referred to as "Jamaican mint", Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Trinidad and other Caribbean Islands, where he is known for culinary and medicinal purposes.
For their unique taste, Clinopodim vimineum leaves are great for flavoring soups, salads and sauces, as well as to make refreshing teas.
