Botanical name: Juniperus communis

Juniper, Juniperus communis, is an Evergreen shrub from upright.

Considered an important healing in the middle ages, the fruits of Juniper, namely the berries are great in addition to pickles, sauerkraut, to flavor meat and pork and make liqueurs, such as Juniper brandy. The branches are also used to flavour the smoking process.

The oil of Juniper is used to give aroma to gin.
