Botanical name: Artemisia genipi

Strongly aromatic foliage perennial, Artemisia genipi suffrutex is a small plant endemic to the Alps. Spontaneusly, Artemisia genipi grows on rocks and moraines amid the 2000-3000 m.

This variety of Wormwood is particularly sought after for the preparation of the famous alpine liquor, which bears the same name, and aromatic grappas and liqueurs obtained by infusion or distillation of foliage. Cultivation areas are mainly located in Aosta Valley and Piedmont between 1900-2000 meters above sea level.
