Tagetes lucida is an herbaceous perennial native to Mexico and Central America. In these places it is both aromatic plant from both plant drugs.
The leaves of this variety are used in cooking as a substitute for tarragon. Fresh or dried, they are great for soup and sauces.
With the dry leaves and fresh flowers you can also prepare tea from delicate flavor of anise.
The bloom is yellow and makes its appearance in late summer.
