Botanical name: Eryngium foetidum
Several species belonging to the genus Eryngium are used in different parts of the world as medicine.
Eryngium foetidum is widely used in Latin American and Southeast Asia in soups, curry dishes, rice dishes and fish. Commonly referred to as "culantro", this species resembles the flavor of coriander, but distungue for the strokes more pronounced.
In medicine the Caribbean Culantro is used as a cure for epilepsy. fevers, convulsions and high blood pressure.
