Botanical name: Capparis spinosa

The plant of Capparis spinosa is a small shrub canopy hanging. Spontaneous calcareous substrates, in its natural environment it grows on limestone cliffs or old walls.

This perennial flower buds are consumed, namely the capers, which are a food commonly used in Italian cooking. The aroma is particularly suitable for seasoning dishes based on meat, fish and pasta.

The caper has very limited water requirements.
