Gynostemma pentaphyllum is an herbaceous perennial from climbing appearance, native to Asia.

Known for centuries in China, its populations are making use of the leaves to make infusions, which would, according to the local traditions, would act as a Rejuvenator, making great benefits to the body umano.*

In addition to using the foliage to flavor tea, the young shoots can be eaten in salads. The taste resembles that of ginseng.
